7th over: USA 50-2 (Kumar 24, A Jones 6) Rashid has added to the glory with his excellent performance in this tournament. He creates all kinds of complications in the over. USA did well to clinch two singles.

6th over: USA 48-2 (Kumar 23, A Jones 5) The United States captain comes to the crease and he hits the second ball for four, sliding the ball down through the empty point area. Here comes England’s quiet talent – Adil Rashid.

Curran comes quickly to the crease in his Goomba-ish style. His first ball was sent back for four runs on the third ball…

5th over: USA 39-1 (Taylor 8, Kumar 23) Topley is bowling his third over and Nitish Kumar has put real pressure on him! A full length ball is lofted over mid-off for four runs and followed by a brilliant strike straight down the ground for six runs! Kumar is looking in good form, Topley was out after scoring 13 runs from the over. England turned to Sam Curran for the next over. Can he break this growing partnership?

Fourth over: USA 26-1 (Taylor 7, Kumar 11) Kumar clips his toes for a couple. Archer replies with three points. Then a sharp bouncer is kissed instead of being slammed down the wicket and rises sharply, Kumar shines at it and the top edge goes straight past Jos Buttler to the boundary for six. An appropriate response was given by the Americans.

3rd over: USA 18-1 (Taylor 7, Kumar 3) Topley resumed, a good looking drive from Kumar getting him off the mark with a couple through cover. Kumar then goes for a quick single which is stopped well in the ring. shot! Taylor wrist-flicked for four runs. Seven runs from the over.

Second over: USA 11-1 (Taylor 3, Kumar 0) Joffra Archer bowled a brilliant over. To get inside and then send the ball down with incredible speed. The batsmen could not find any blades on this one and this almost led to another wicket – Taylor looked to take a quick single but Kumar sent it back. Liam Livingstone was shy of the stumps and if he was hit, Taylor was gone. The batsman had accepted defeat and remained a spectator at the time of the throw.

“Jim, the mention of rum earlier inspired me to stock up on a new-to-me rum for this session: Dappy. I can recommend it for getting in the mood. Does OBO have a favorite drink?”

Anything Wet and cold, John. to encourage.

Wicket! Gaus Sea Salt b Topley 8 (USA 9-1)

It was a strange start for both the opening batsmen as they were slightly off the mark on wrong edges. Topley beats Gause with a ripper that pitches and goes straight. The wicket is looking a bit sticky and there is some movement in the air with the new ball. Six! Goss fired a half-volley over square leg off leg stump with panache. The next ball is in the same spot and Goss repeats the shot… but he can’t get it straight enough and it finds the safe hands of Phil Salt instead! England struck in the very first over. The goose is cooked!

right then, Reece Topley has the ball in hub cap sized hands. Aaron Taylor and Andries Gus will open for America. The latter had a slow start against South Africa but showed his ability to move through the gears and really gave the Proteas a scare with his 80* a few days ago. His quick inning of 29 runs in 16 balls against West Indies in the last match also showed that he can play fast innings also. game!

The players are on the field and the national anthem is playing. the star Spangled Banner Is especially sweet. USA leads 1-0 in anthem stakes. Although I can’t think of any national anthem that is worse than England’s?

a reminder – England have to win and not let this game go to waste. If they win and the margin of victory is ten runs or less Or If the game goes till the last over – there will be a clash.

I have done the math, and mathematically to progress England have to win and keep their net run rate above 0.556. If West Indies cannot beat South Africa then England will get points. And if West Indies wins, it could reach the highest NRR of South Africa defeat

Oh, and we should all probably take a long, hard look at this:

Horrible scene. A reminder that the Women’s World Cup is brought to you @ICC and Aramco – the world’s largest corporate greenhouse gas emitter. https://t.co/PqdXwUSoJF

England won the toss and chose to bowl first!

Jos Buttler calls the coin correct and decides to ‘chase’ in modern parlance. Butler confirmed that Chris Jordan has replaced Mark Wood.

Aaron Jones admitted to Mike Atherton that he would have bowled first, but he didn’t look too upset, with a big smile on his face and Kensington Oval reflected in his wraparound shades. The USA captain went to school with Joffra Archer and they find themselves playing against each other on the biggest stage today. A nice little story and some subtext to keep track of.

Jones confirmed that USA is unchanged.

Chris Jordan is seen marking our run up. So he is either involved in Mitch Marsh-like shenanigans or is trying to get into the team. I suspect Mark Wood may be the guy to make the side-stepping, incoming toss, so watch this space…

It’s bright and sunny in Barbados The prognosis is fair at this time. This is one less thing to worry about for England. Their fate is entirely in their own hands – win and win well and they will have no problem securing a place in the semi-finals.

Another sigh of relief for Messrs Mott and Butler also came in the form of Afghanistan’s shocking victory over the Australian team. Suddenly it is Mitch Marsh’s side who are sweating their way to safety – they now have to beat the mighty Indians to progress to the semi-finals.

Preface

Brass keeps track of time. To England’s Harry Brook:

“We have played a lot in Barbados over the last six months. So we know the conditions, the wind and the pitch as well. Hopefully we can go out there and give them a good beat.”

Them That being the United States, the tournament’s co-host and cock-warming surprise package. Once again, today’s match will be a case of keeping one eye on the sky and one eye on the net run rate column for the England players in this T20 World Cup.

The Americans have already proven themselves as a threat in this format (just ask Pakistan, just ask India’s much-vaunted top order or South Africa’s bowlers) and Jos Buttler’s men have hardly held their own so far. Is made.

This being the first meeting between the two countries in a full international format, Stuart Law’s side are all set when it comes to making the semi-finals, barring a miracle that even my tiny mind cannot calculate. Still, the United States will be hoping to make a statement and give the ‘Limmies’ a good push.

There’s always the potential for upsets in the T20 format, only time will tell whether ‘Eri’s stormy words come back to bite like a Baltic wind on a bare back.

Our rum soaked and sun kissed The man on the pitch – Ali Martin – has created the perfect introduction to today’s match:

The match will start at 3.30 pm BSTI’ll be back a little while later with news about the teams and the toss.
