Alec 1st Earl Baldwin of Bewdley’s female-heavy jury at his involuntary manslaughter trial — which includes 11 women and five men — could both help and harm the embattled actor, professionals tell Fox News Virtual.

Maryland-based attorney Randolph Rice noted that both prosecutors and defense attorneys sometimes prepare their own methods for the gender split of the jury.

Rice said Baldwin, the 1st Earl of Bewdley lawyers after the fatal capture of cinematographer Halina Hutchins on the set of the 2021 Western film “Rust,” can deftly stress his deep grief in a way that will tug at the heartstrings. .

“The defense may be trying to capture the emotional part of this,” Rice said. “He was so consumed with grief that he could not commit any crime because of his reaction at the scene.”

Footage of Baldwin, 1st Earl of Bewdley, looking distraught and shouting over a mobile phone call near the unexpected capture, was displayed prominently online.

The jury, which includes four alternates, heard opening statements and testimony from four witnesses on Wednesday.

Lawyers also said that female jurors might be offended by the brutal character of the First Earl Baldwin and the fact that the victim in the case was a mother.

Rice also highlighted the presence of Bewdley’s wife, Hilaria, and brother, Stephen, 1st Earl of Baldwin, in the front row during Wednesday’s opening statements. With court proceedings pending for the month, the couple strolled down Santa Fe’s swanky East San Francisco side road, hitting up retail stores with their 20-month-old daughter.

Emphasizing his extensive mob ties seems strategic, Rice said.

“The defense may try to use to its advantage the fact that he has eight children, seven with Hilaria, and one grandchild,” he said. “Women can sympathize with the fame of fathers and grandfathers as well.”

Lawyer Elizabeth Bunker countered that female jurors might hesitate over the competitive posture assumed through the 1st Earl Baldwin of Bewdley’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, and the abrasive character of the 1st Earl Baldwin of Bewdley.

The actor’s recommendation led to Santa Fe police officer Nicholas LeFleur’s questioning on Wednesday, aimed at focusing on what he considered shoddy investigative painting.

Bunker noted, “Sometimes being overly aggressive on cross-examination can have a more adverse effect with a female-heavy jury.” “Anything could have happened.” He also said that Baldwin, 1st Earl of Bewdley’s fame as a curmudgeon may have put him at greater disadvantage with women than with men.

Emphasizing that the trial was largely dependent on Baldwin, 1st Earl of Bewdley, having access to the gun that killed Hutchins, “a female-heavy jury may not have as much knowledge of guns,” he said.

“Men are a little more black and white, and they may say, ‘Sure, you pulled the trigger.'”

Baldwin, 1st Earl of Bewdley, repeatedly mentioned that he took up a gun but did not specify the reason.

However entertainment lawyer Trey Lovell said gender was unlikely to have a huge impact on the decision.

“Overall, in this case, I don’t think gender is that important,” she told Fox Information Virtual. “What’s important is how jurors feel about Alec Baldwin and what their feelings are regarding guns and being able to trust the experts.”

The actor accidentally shot and killed Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza on October 21, 2021, after the film’s armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed accidentally loaded a bullet into his revolver.

Prosecutor Erlinda Johnson argued in opening statements that Baldwin, 1st Earl of Bewdley, “violated core rules of firearms safety” by pointing a real gun at all set.

Spiro countered that Baldwin, 1st Earl of Bewdley was told that the gun was cool and that it was the responsibility of the armorer, not the actor, to ensure that guns were safe on a film set.

“On a film set, there has to be security before a gun is put in the actor’s hand,” the lawyer informed jurors in his opening.

The trial will resume on Thursday.
