AMD’s next-generation Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” desktop CPUs have once again been listed online and the price is much lower than the Ryzen 7000 MSRP.

AMD Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” desktop CPUs may trade on the AM5 platform at an unbalanced price in line with actual retail listings, with the 9950X being 190 euros less expensive than the 7950X’s MSRP

A few days ago, we reported the first retail listing of the AMD Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” desktop CPU. Now, an unnamed store has listed all four chips, including the Ryzen 9 9950X, Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X, and Ryzen 5 9600X, as being available for pre-order by August 2nd, which is a little too late. The professional debut will take place in the next few days, which is scheduled for July thirty-first.

In line with Funtech’s retail listing, all four chips were indexed with their pre-order cost, even though we can’t verify whether they are professional or not. We’ll be able to point out that they appear to be a lower accumulation than the MSRP of the Ryzen 7000 “Zen 4” desktop CPU at the time of origination, so let’s start with the Government chips first.

The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 16-core CPU is listed for €659.90, which is €190 cheaper than the professional MSRP of the Ryzen 9 7950X, which was originally offered at €849. Additionally, it’s significantly less than the Ryzen 9 7950X3D’s €789.99 MSRP throughout its creation. Of course, each of the Ryzen 7000 chips has not hidden any scope of discount since then and the same store is making those chips available at €600.15 (Ryzen 9 7950X3D) and €550.18 (Ryzen 9 7950X). The price is quite close to the discounted rates and would be great for unused PC developers who are planning to switch to Zen 5 CPUs.

Up next, we’ve got the AMD Ryzen 9 9900X 12-core CPU indexed at €499.90 and that’s €170 cheaper than the professional MSRP of the Ryzen 9 7900X and €180 cheaper than the professional MSRP of the Ryzen 9 7900X3D. Once again, this is a great price for a 12-core SKU and it should be very competitive against Intel’s high-end Core i9 options.

Moving up the unhealthy stack, we’ve got the 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 9700X which is indexed for €399.90. This could be an €80 cheaper price tier than the Ryzen 9 7900X and €110 cheaper than the professional MSRP of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU. Keep in mind that this CPU may get an update with a 120W TDP next as we reported here as AMD wants to show off the performance gains of Zen 5 in games and by increasing the TDP, they may be able to do that easily . Succeed in their popular 7800X3D which is one of the best selling processors currently on the market.

Despite everything, we have the Ryzen 5 9600X which is listed for €309.90 and that is a drop of €50 in contrast to the professional MSRP of the Ryzen 5 7600X which retails at €359. So if we match the retail indexed prices against the professional MSRPs of the Ryzen 7000 desktop CPUs, we can see that the fatness has decreased across the board as shown in the table below:

AMD Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” desktop CPU listing (Funtech):

cpu title indexed value Ryzen 7000 MSRP Ryzen 7000 (flow) Ryzen 7000X3D (MSRP) Ryzen 7000X3D (Flow) Unlike its predecessor (non-X3D)
Ryzen 9 9950X €569.90 7950X (€849) €550.18 7950X3D (€789) €600.15 -€190
Ryzen 9 9900X €499.90 7900X (€669) €399.81 7900X3D (€679) €425.25 -€170
ryzen 7 9700x €399.90 7700X (€479) €331.54 7800X3D (€509) €368.21 -€80
Ryzen 5 9600X €309.90 7600X (€359) €219.12 N/A N/A -€50

  • Ryzen 9 9950X (List) vs Ryzen 9 7950X Professional MSRP= -32.9%
  • Ryzen 9 9900X (List) vs Ryzen 9 7900X Professional MSRP = -25.4%
  • Ryzen 7 9700X (List) vs Ryzen 7 9700X Professional MSRP= -16.7%
  • Ryzen 5 9600X (List) vs Ryzen 5 9600X Professional MSRP= -13.9%

We all know those prices are still early lists for this generation, but if they’re anywhere near indicative of overall MSRPs, the closest current and unused AM5 PC developers are in for a deal. What’s also disappointing is that we’ll likely see similar pricing issues for the next-generation Ryzen 9000X3D 3-D V-Cache parts, which the “X” version can be expected to produce a few months later.
