Before the talks, Biden, 81, traded at 48 cents a share. However, in just one day, after talking with a gruff tone and giving roundabout answers, his shares traded at 39 cents and bottomed at 29 cents before rising to 30 cents by Friday morning.
According to PredictIt, former President Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, led Biden by 53 cents to 48 cents before the debate. As he went back and forth with Biden, his shares rose to 61 cents and are actually rising to 58 cents, meaning a 58% chance of victory.

“When the markets reopen later today we expect to see significant action that will keep the market volatile for some time until speculators and punters reach a new consensus. Given what we saw, I would expect to see Trump’s odds rise. I also suspect we’ll see some significant changes in the odds for third-party candidates, namely Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as well as the alternative to the Democratic ticket. Will also be viewed as possibilities.” Ted Williams, director of lay family members for BETAS.
Election Betting Odds, another website that averages live odds from multiple betting markets, shows a 59.7% chance of Trump winning, up 4.1% over the last 24 hours.
The same average of odds shows Biden’s chances have increased to 21.2%, a decrease of about 15 points in a single day.
