“Currently, battery health metrics such as maximum capacity and cycle count are not presented to consumers whose devices contain third-party batteries. This is because the accuracy of these metrics cannot be verified by Apple.. “In an effort to improve support for third-party batteries, starting in late 2024, Apple will display battery health metrics with a notification stating that Apple cannot verify the information presented.”

Thanks to a sprinkling of real-life examples for the iPhone 16, we now have confirmation of three key features Apple is bringing to the base iPhone in 2024. Two new buttons are being added—the Motion button and the Camera button—though changes to the digital camera to help Apple’s gee-whiz AR headset demonstrate interoperability developed by Apple:
“These have changed from the iPhone 15’s diagonal arrangement on a square camera island to a vertical arrangement on a more lozenge-shaped island. This should have no impact on regular photos and videos taken on the iPhone, but the arrangement of the lenses allows Side-by-side lenses when recording in landscape mode – this is the orientation you’ll need to take stereoscopic video that will allow 3D playback on the Apple Vision Pro headset.

Apple first launched the M4 chipset in the iPad Pro. The M order of Apple silicon has already appeared in the iPad Pro but has largely been hidden as Mac chips. And the Mac community will only have to wait about six months before the M4 will be available to their Macs, MacBooks, and iMacs:
“The entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro is expected to get an M4 chip, while the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models will be updated with M4 Pro and M4 Max chips. The Mac mini will get an M4 and M4 Pro. Chips. MacBook Air, Mac Studio and Mac Pro models won’t be updated with M4 chips until 2025, and it’s not yet clear when the iMac might get an update with the refreshed chip technology.”

Apple’s new implementation of mirroring an iPhone to a Mac display is now available during the iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia developer betas at WWDC. A holiday for the entire society is predicted in early October. In addition to sharing control and virtual real assets, mirroring tools bring document technologies closer to negligible.
Chief among the “More” is a really cool feature where you can drag and drop files from your Mac to your iPhone, which is the last word in convenience. The connected Mac will show notifications from the iPhone on the Mac screen, and when you click on the Mac’s screen, they will open onscreen.”

Canalys’ actual record shows sales of computers and tablets in the last quarter, and Apple will be pleased with the site of two mode elements on the market:
“This means Apple had a 14.2% share of the desktop and notebook computer market this quarter. It shipped approximately 2,102,000 Macs, compared to 1,723,000 in Q1 2023… Overall, Apple shipped 4,928,000 iPads this quarter , down from 5,404,000 a year ago. Still, the iPad remains dominant with 50.8% of the market.”

Regulators within the European Union have challenged Apple over the implementation of third-party app retail outlets and the ability of developers to inform customers about Apple’s private storage options:
“The technology giant has been given the opportunity to review the initial findings of the investigation, and could avoid heavy fines if it comes back with a proposal satisfactory to the EU. The European Commission says developers will have to pay customers “Be able to independently tell when there are cheaper app stores available than the Apple-run store.”

Apple’s push into AAA gaming has highlighted some notable iPhone-related names over the past week. Sadly, financial fortunes have no longer favored their releases, as analysis shows that those titles have “bombed”:
AppFigures says, “Assassin’s Creed Mirage was downloaded approximately 123,000 times since June 6. However, it has only achieved gross revenue of $138,000. The report believes that revenue level indicates that 3,000 Even fewer people were willing to unlock the entire game for $49.99.”
