For years, Chanel West Coast has been looking for its own individual showcase. While some generations may know him for his infectious, unique laugh heard in 38 episodes of “Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory,” followed by more than 700 episodes of MTV’s “Ridiculousness,” he’s much more than that — and status. I am here to end it.

“A common comment I see is, ‘You’re just that girl who laughs on the couch.’ They have no idea how hard I work outside of ‘ridiculousness,'” explains the 35-year-old West Coast selection, Now not only did she welcome a daughter, Bowie Wind, in 2022, but she is also a recording artist, as tracking is her real passion. “I have done two cross-country tours. I’ve opened for a lot of big artists like Lil Wayne and Cardi B. I’ve done a lot of amazing things in my independent music career, and a lot of people don’t know because it’s a little bit affected by ‘ridiculousness.’ I can’t wait for people to see it. I work very hard and handle most of the work myself.”

After the inside track that she was avoiding “ridiculousness”, she announced her full offer with Paramount, which included a pristine fact display. “The West Coast Hustle” debuted on July 18 on MTV with two back-to-back episodes, chronicling her coming of age as a mother, a girlfriend, a swimwear designer, and a sovereign recording artist. Has gone.

“I’ve been trying to get my own show for years. I made a million trailers and nothing was really bitter. I took a break from trying and matured a bit,” says the TV character, whose real name is Chelsea Chanel Dudley. She was not sure she was able to fully let the camera in as it seemed “a little invasive”.

But if MTV approached him with the concept at the appropriate date, he saw all the benefits. The platform, for both her, her fashion boyfriend Dom Fenison, and their daughter, was the reason she said yes.

“I grew up in LA. There are so many Napo Babies out there, and I realized that this could be the thing that changes my daughter’s life,” she explains. “I was hesitant, but I knew that there would be so many great things ahead of me.” Will come.”

However, avoiding the comedy clip show “Ridiculousness”, which debuted in 2011 under host Rob Dyrdek, was not a very easy task. “There were a lot of tears and emotions and a lot to go through mentally,” she says of the decision. But if she welcomed her daughter, she knew now was the time to move on: “‘ It would have been almost impossible to keep doing ‘Ridiculous’, be a mom, and have a music career — and at the end of the day, music is my passion and I really want to take it to the next level.”

Letting the cameras capture all that came of her age had its own difficulties. For example, he had difficulty seeing certain parts again due to his weight. Close to welcoming her daughter, she had liposuction but was still not where she wanted to be when filming began.

“Being super transparent, the hardest thing for me was not being able to make myself look my best. In addition to having a baby, I had extra swelling due to lipo. I was still 40-50 pounds overweight. “I’ve lost all the weight now,” she says. “I wish I was a little slimmer before filming the season, but I’m glad people will see it and be able to relate to it… I went on a show, Where I sit still and look perfect.”

West Coast was also forced to be in a completely glamorous environment in front of the cameras at all times. At first, she was worried that this would no longer happen in her reality show.

“Do I want the world to see me on camera without makeup? I don’t want this to affect my career. If they see me that way, I’ll probably never get any acting work or anything else,” she says. “But I realized, at the end of the day, I have to be who I am… So, you can see my workout sessions without makeup. I was in the pool with my child without makeup. I have a hangover, no makeup. It was hard!”

This is the first time she has been able to fully control every aspect of the mission, from controlling what was shown and what was not shown. Nothing was off limits when it came to letting the cameras in, but the fact that she was a part of every conversation was a vital and important exchange.

Even though she has been in 30 seasons of “Ridiculousness”, she has never been a government producer.

“I wish I could do that. I’m very creative and I have a lot of ideas, but it’s Rob’s show. That’s his baby,” she says. “When something’s somebody’s thing, I don’t put my head on it. I’m very grateful to be on that show, for that journey and where it took me, but I’ve never been that type I wouldn’t want to be that person, which is trying to take over someone else’s thing.”
