The parents of Harsh Goldberg-Polin, the 23-year-old Israeli American who was kidnapped by Hamas on Oct. 7, said Monday that new video of his arrest should serve as a “call to action.” There is every possibility of freeing additional hostages.

“He’s our son,” John Polin told NBC News’ Matt Bradley in Jerusalem. “I want all viewers of this video to think in a personal way about what we’re doing here, and maybe it can be a call to action to inspire them to fight (and) to bring home Let us do whatever we can, these are hostages.”

John Palin and his wife Rachel Goldberg told NBC News hours before the Hostages & Missing Families discussion board that they shared an untouched video of themselves taking a photo of their son from the Supernova Trance Track Pageant in southern Israel on October 7.

The fascinating video, recorded by Hamas and reviewed by NBC News correspondents, shows Goldberg-Polin in the mattress of a pickup truck with part of a finger blown off. He is there with two alternative detainees: Yaa Levi, 33, and Elia Cohen, 26. All three men are covered in blood and appear dazed as the Hamas militants call out in Arabic and poke their heads through their hair.

The forum mentioned that he made the video family and then Israel Security Forces licensed his shed. “This harrowing footage stands as a devastating testament to the 262-day-long abandonment of our loved ones,” the platform said in a comment. “Harsh, Elia, and Aur were captured alive, and they must be returned alive today.”

“Every day that passes puts the hostages at greater risk and our chances of bringing them back safely decrease,” the comment read in part.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government has come under increasing pressure from hostages’ families to prioritize the release of additional detainees rather than destroying Hamas – a conflict in his military campaign.

Over the weekend, Netanyahu seemed to once again further clarify the ceasefire agreement with Hamas that the Biden leadership has endorsed, announcing that an “intensified” phase of Israel’s conflict in Gaza would soon end. and he indicated that he would be better off accepting a “partial” resolution that would not end the conflict.

Ofir Falk, one of Netanyahu’s aides, said in an interview earlier this year that the Israeli leader had tentatively agreed to the Biden-backed framework, but added that it was “not a good deal.”

The discussion board condemned Netanyahu’s remarks, declaring that it successfully “frees 120 hostages and violates the state’s moral obligation towards its citizens.”

During the more than eight-month-long conflict, Goldberg-Polin’s parents and other families of hostages have repeatedly called on the Netanyahu government and the global community to pay attention to their family’s plight.

“I lived in this parallel universe of suffering for 262 days,” said Rachel Goldberg, one of the vocal advocates for the hostages.

John Pollin said: “These are real people – with dreams, with aspirations, with their families.”

Rachel Goldberg mentioned that her husband and daughter adored the newlyweds Video Monday. “I decided not to watch it,” he said. “My daughter told me, ‘Don’t watch it.’ You will see them pulling Harsh by the hair, smiling together, ‘It will only hurt you,’ he said.

"I want all the viewers of this video to think personally about what we are doing here," said Goldberg, seen here with her son and husband.

In a third video shared by Hamas’ military wing in late April, Goldberg-Polin speaks directly to the camera in Hebrew and angrily calls on the Israeli government to house the hostages. The conditions under which they spoke were not cloudless and the year of recording of the video was not known.

It is also not clear whether he is still alive or not. In the video, Goldberg-Polin’s left arm was amputated below the elbow.

According to Israeli officials, Goldberg-Polin was one of more than 200 people taken captive during the October 7 terrorist attack. During the conflict in the Gaza Strip, Hamas militants killed more than 1,200 people amid attacks, according to Israeli officials. More than 37,000 people have been killed since Israel began its military campaign in the Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian enclave’s Ministry of State.
