In an interview with “CBS Mornings”, Davis explained that during the flight, her 13-year-old son asked for a cup of ice. The flight attendant did not hear her son’s request, Davis said, so Davis, who was sitting in an aisle seat, said she raised her hand to get the flight attendant’s attention. Then, when the flight attendant did not look at him, Davis said he “lightly tapped” the flight attendant’s shoulder. Then Davis said the flight attendant turned around and said, “Don’t hit me.”
Davis said one of the passengers commented on the conversation.
“He turned around and said, ‘You didn’t kill him.’ He said, ‘I didn’t see it.’
The former NFL running back said he was surprised by the flight attendant’s reaction, but didn’t think much of it until the flight from Denver landed in Orange County, California.
Upon landing, everyone was asked to remain in their seats, Davis said. Davis said he thought there might be a medical emergency, so he remained in his seat until he heard a commotion and saw FBI agents in the aisle.
“I see ‘FBI’ on the jacket. I see green, I think it was the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, and they were walking back toward the plane, and as they got closer to my seat, they went straight to my Come closer, and the agent comes over to me, and he leans over and whispers, ‘Don’t fight it,’ and he presses down on me.”
At the time, the former Denver Broncos star wasn’t sure why he was being handcuffed. He said he thought about the snow incident, but said the agent did not explain what was happening.
“At that moment, I felt all my dignity, I felt powerless, I felt embarrassed,” she said.
Davis’ wife, Tamico Davis, said she had no knowledge of the ice incident. She said she asked what was happening and kept asking her husband if it was a joke.
He said, “This is some cruel practical prank he’s playing on me.” “You’re just going through all these emotions.”

The couple’s sons, ages 11 and 13, sat next to Terrell Davis, while their 9-year-old daughter Tamiko sat next to Davis on the flight as the family was headed to Disneyland on vacation.
“I felt helpless. I remember watching them put handcuffs on Terrell and seeing my two sons there. As a mother, as a black mother raising two black sons, you’re really tough. Let’s work hard so that your kids don’t have these types of experiences,” said Tamiko Davis. “That moment – I can’t protect my kids from that.”
couple’s RepresentativeParker Stinar said that within minutes of interviewing Davis and other passengers, it was determined that the flight attendant’s statement was false or misleading.
“The problem is that the wounds that were caused and the trauma that was caused are going to impact this family forever,” Stiner said on “CBS Mornings.” “Equally important, we have heard from dozens of other United passengers who have experienced similar conduct, incidents and, sadly, I don’t know why this happened to Mr. Davis, the vast majority of them were not handcuffed ”
Davis said the agents apologized to him.
“The biggest problem for me was the intentions of the flight attendants,” he said. “When you went there and called, your intention was to destroy me. I didn’t do anything to that.”
United Airlines released a statement regarding the incident:
“This is clearly not the kind of travel experience we strive to provide. We have contacted Mr. Davis’ team to apologize and continue to discuss this issue with them. We have removed the flight attendant from duty.” “While we are monitoring this matter closely, we are reviewing our policies regarding such incidents.”
Stinner said legal action could be taken.
“They need to be held accountable. We would love to see a change in policy. We think it’s very important, starting with a true apology.”
