The grim, emotional finale spans nearly 100 years, as Louise and Armand (Assad Zaman) tell their story to Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian), but the journalist wears out the evidence given to him via Talamasca, revealing that Armand was lying to Lewis. Sometimes due to Cowen’s trial in Paris. Louis thought that Armand had saved him from death, but Daniel saw that Armand had actually directed the entire trial and it was Lestat (Sam Reed) who put Louis in his place. For 77 years, Armand based his entire dating career on lies. Louis angrily attacks Armand for betrayal and orders him to abdicate.

Now armed with reality, Louis travels to pristine Orleans to finally reunite with Lestat. The two talk candidly about the death of Claudia (Delaney Hayles) and Louise’s suicidal ideation, shedding tears at every opportunity, and Louise thanks Lestat for giving her the unloved gift. As the camera panned again, the vampires had to speak, but the audience couldn’t hear what they said each time. Then, the embrace they shared as a storm raged outdoors.

Next Last step in life: Daniel publishes his “imaginary memoir” Interview with the Vampire, despite the fact that Louis didn’t need him, and was publicly ridiculed by the safe ones and privately resented by all vampires. It is clear that Daniel was also a vampire by Armand when Louise rejected him, but both Louise and Daniel did not hear from Armand until later. The season ends with Louis having all the vampires rage at him for exposing his vision to get back at him.

Suffice it to say, one bundle was rendered useless during the Season 2 finale. However Reed’s favorite emotional episode was the long-awaited reunion of Louis and Lestat. “I thought it was beautiful,” he explains. holiday weekly, “It was a great way to end the season. There’s a lot of mistakes, there’s some things you really want to know about, but also a very satisfying conclusion. It’s this beautiful moment of Lewis accepting himself. There’s the journey and finding his feet and accepting the dark gift and also Lestat is now accessing his humanity a little bit.”

When Lewis searches for Lestat again in pristine Orleans, it is a distancing call from Lestat fans open throughout the series. He is living in a dilapidated area, pretending to play the piano during Log Week, using Siri to broadcast tracks, and telling Louis that he is “going on tour” but is almost 50. The first requires years of practice. This may be surprising to viewers who have not read Anne Rice’s books, however Reed was ultimately excited to play the game of this model of Lestat.

“He’s definitely not in a good place,” Reed says. “She’s probably in one of the worst places she’s ever been, but at least she’s got Lewis back. They’re not back together, but at least they’re on talking terms. I know she’s in that You can’t always play it, so it’s complicated, but it’s very well laid out.”

Reed wanted to go even further with Lestat’s physical presence in the finale, but showrunner Rollin Jones wanted to cut him back. “I always wanted blemishes, emaciation, full-blown special effects makeup and soft skin,” says the actor. “I originally wanted to be a complete ghost. And Rollin, rightly, I think, was like, ‘No, it’s a psychological thing. You’re wounded, but it’s a psychological wound. It’s all that There are things that you want to happen, but it’s all in your mind.”

Life Reed does not want to go into too much detail about Lestat, because of the type of harsh business he has gone through since that trial, he finds that Lestat “has been forced to handle himself more.”

Reid says, “Claudia is a huge loss, and Louis and Lestat, for the next century, would never have been able to spend so much time together without bringing Claudia forward.” “They can’t do that. That reunion scene, they can only really chat for three minutes before they talk about Claudia, and there’s so much left to process. And that at different times. Is troubling both of them. I think Lestat will probably be able to walk in the sun as easily as Louis, but this Lestat will not die, he will turn black.”

AMC has formally renewed Interview with the Vampire For Season 3, and will adapt the display Rice’s 2D Secure, vampire lestat, “We’re following the order of the books,” Reed confirms. The unused season may be targeted at Lestat, who becomes jealous of his portrayal in Molloy’s safe and, inspired to make his story immediately curious, transforms into a rock megastar.

Jones explains, “Sam worked really hard for two years as a supporting actor, and I think Jacob is very excited to do the same thing for him and keep Sam front and center.” ew, “We’ve just scratched the surface with Sam, who is an incredible actor.”

The listener is aware that it was “madness” for Reed to constantly play the game against the characters’ perceptions of Lestat instead of his original personality, but this is eventually resolved. “We gave them a view that is objective, the view of New Orleans,” says Jones. “In that moment, it’s nobody’s point of view. The camera is there looking at the two of them, so there you go, fans. A view of the real Lestat so far.”

But that scene, and the overall ending of Season 2, went through several changes before it hit the screen – first of all, because the showrunner initially intended for the first season to be adapted into a season one. Subsequently, due to financial problems, among other reasons, the first one was broken into two seasons. The showrunner then asked for a reunion of Louis and Lestat to draw the playground during Storm Katrina, although the timeline did not upload. Additionally, there were some aspects of the scene that Jones knew he could never “get past” at AMC.

He says, “That reunion is extremely nihilistic, so we were going to do something different.” “We thought a little bit about the idea of setting it up during a storm King Lear Where there is a storm going on inside and a storm going on outside. There’s this idea that their relationship was like a storm, and they’re finding this moment of forgiveness and peace and quiet in the middle of the storm, and it feels like this is the way to go.”

It was notable for Jones to host the finale with the reunion of Lewis and Lestat. “It’s very clear in the later books that this is not a relationship to be thrown away,” says Jones. “It’s really a very central relationship, so how do you go back to it and start that journey again? We’re starting to see glimpses of forgiveness and accountability in that last scene between them. ”

“But we don’t end up with them as a couple,” says Jones. “They were reconciled and it’s quite disappointing in the novel, their separation. We went the other way with it, which means we start the journey of how they eventually, for maybe eight seasons, How to end up together We just wanted some catharsis. We wanted to earn that hug and those quiet words that neither of us said to each other.”

Jones discovered that Anderson and Reed’s microphones had actually been turned off after Louis and Lestat’s conversation ended. “The whispers that are going around, there are two people on Earth who know what was said there, and that’s Sam and Jacob,” says Jones.

Reed was fond of seeing how the showrunner actually wrote that presentation into the script. Reed says, “Nobody knows what Louis and Lestat really say to each other (except us), which I think is the essence of what happens in this show.” “It’s all about perspective. It’s all about perspective. It’s all about who says what about each other. And then now we’ve given it back to these characters, and now these The characters find out what they say to each other and think about each other after all this, but it’s just for them and they keep it back for themselves and no one will know.”

Jones felt as if he owed it to the actors to give them personal gifts. The showrunner says, “The amount of time he’s put into these characters, the knowledge he has, and everything we’ve given him, it felt like he’d earned a gift.” “There’s a really deep friendship between them that’s come from this show, and all these fans have really loved not only the characters, but that friendship offscreen as well. So it’s great to see the work they’ve done over the two seasons.” There was a big celebration.”

Will Reed ever reveal what he and Anderson said on each occasion? “Absolutely not,” the actor says with a smile. “I’m sure people who do mouth-reading things can probably get into it.”

“I’m sure someone will try to break the code, but hopefully they won’t,” says Jones. “Hopefully, that’s where the audience will really respect that.”

Although as far as the season’s general Mike goes, when Daniel discovers he was a vampire through Armand, Jones teases that there’s more to come from that story. “There’s a creator and there’s a novice,” he says. “We’d be very bad playwrights if they were never on the scene together again. We just needed to set the stage for a lot of new writing for Lewis.” There was a need, and I think that frustrates him. There’s new writing to be done for this character.”
