A large number of Palestinian families have fled after receiving orders to evacuate many areas of Gaza City.

Palestinians in Gaza City say it is the worst Israeli bombardment they have experienced since Israel began its war on Hamas, coming close to the gang’s unparalleled October 7 attack.

Columns of Israeli tanks are reported to be located in the center of the city, according to several other sources.

The Gaza civil situation provider says it believes a large number of communities were killed, but has not yet been reached due to fighting in several districts east and west of Gaza City.

Al-Ahli Baptist Sanatorium is reported to have been evacuated, its patients moved to the best scientific facility still operating in the department – the already overcrowded Indonesian Sanatorium.

Meanwhile, a senior Palestinian reliable has told the BBC that indirect talks between Hamas and Israel on a ceasefire and hostage-free trade are expected to resume within 48 hours in Qatar.

The official said a preliminary meeting between the heads of the US, Israel and Egypt will be held in Egypt on Monday.

Prior to the attack on Gaza Town, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued orders to evacuate several neighborhoods within the center, including Tufa, Daraj, and Gaza Town.

However, most of the subjects under the most intense attack, Tel al-Hawa, were not included in the evacuation layout, which was posted online with a map by an IDF Arabic spokesman on Sunday.

On Monday afternoon, the IDF released a new layout that included Tel al-Hawa in addition to Sabra and al-Rimal subjects to the north and west.

Abdel Ghani, a resident of Gaza Town, pleaded: “The enemy is behind us and the sea is in front of us, where should we go?”

Others have also told the BBC they do not know how to proceed. They are saying that there is only one way left – to move north against the port department of Gaza Town.

Some fled districts found the nearest evacuation layout, only to find that the department they moved to came under Israeli bombardment.

In al-Rimal, a freelance cameraman working for the BBC says he did not receive any evacuation orders, although he later learned that his neighbor had.

He left the department with his crowd and went north. They are now within the Ports Department but the inadequacies should be minor. They say they are having trouble finding H2O for their children.

In a comment, the IDF confirmed that it launched a new operation in Tel al-Halwa on the same day, which it said was due to the understanding of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad infrastructure and fighters within the department.

The army also said it was operating in the department of Unrwa, the headquarters of the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees.

The IDF noted that at the beginning of the operation, it blackmailed civilians – and mentioned that it would set up a humanitarian hall for the community to free the department.

Israel’s military said its operation focused on Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad infrastructure and fighters

The unprovoked Israeli offensive in Gaza came as hopes were rising that the ceasefire agreement might hold true in any case.

A senior Palestinian trusted general close to the talks told the BBC that indirect talks between Hamas and Israeli negotiating groups, brokered by Qatar and Egypt, would begin in Doha within the next 48 hours.

The official also said a preparatory meeting was held on Monday at the Speed Ground in Cairo between CIA Director William Burns, David Barnia, the head of Israel’s Mossad agency, and Egypt’s intelligence chief Abbas Kamel.

All three prominent leaders are on a visit to Doha on Tuesday.

Credible told the BBC about several key issues from Hamas’ perspective:

  • Hamas wants Israeli forces to pull out of both the Rafah crossing with Egypt and the Philadelphia Hall, a strip of land running along the Egyptian border.
  • Israel has vetoed a demand by Hamas to free 100 senior figures from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Fatah political groups from Israeli prisons.

Hamas negotiating staff have already dropped their requirement for Israel to accept a permanent ceasefire as a precondition for any potential trade.

Credible said that the negotiation process could be very long and complex, but to some extent there was hope that it would go on at this pace.

On Sunday, a comment from the office of Israel’s top minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, stressed that no trade should prevent Israel from resuming fighting in Gaza until its war goals are met.

Mr. Netanyahu has repeatedly outlined his goals as the elimination of Hamas, both militarily and politically.
