KHAN YOUNIS, Gaza Strip (AP) — The Israeli government says 68 civilians — 19 in poor health or injured children and their companions — were allowed to move out of the Gaza Strip and into Egypt, possibly within the first scientific evacuation since May. The only advance to the border was when the crossing used to be close to Ill. It was later captured by Israel.

Israel-Hamas conflict of almost nine months Gaza’s Gaza Strip has been devastated and most of its hospitals have been forced to close. State officials say hundreds of people are seeking medical treatment out of the country, including many with serious conditions.

The Israeli military body responsible for Palestinian civil affairs, known by its acronym COGAT, said on Thursday that the evacuation was carried out in coordination with officials from the United States, Egypt and the world public.

The children and their companions left Gaza through the Kerem Shalom shipment crossing, and victims were flown to Egypt and out of the country for medical treatment.

Community contributors paid tearful tribute to the children at the Nasser Sanatorium in Khan Yunis city of southern Gaza. Most families seemed terrified – most relatives had to stay behind, or even those who were allowed to accompany the patients did not know their final destination.

Noor Abu Zahari cried as he kissed his young daughter, Adios. The woman’s head has been badly burnt due to the Israeli air attack. He said that he did not get approval to liberate Gaza with him, even though his mother did.

“It has been almost 10 months and there is no solution for the hospitals here,” he said.

Kamela Abukwike burst into tears as her son was shown with his mother on a bus headed for the crossing. Neither she nor her husband were granted release.

“The tumor has spread throughout his body and we don’t know what is causing it. And he has a constant fever,” she said. “I still don’t know where he’s going.”

The Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt, which is available for the community to go in or out, was quickly captured by Israeli forces during their operations within the city. Egypt has refused to reopen its part of the crossing until the Gaza Strip returns to Palestinian control.

Recently, six children were transferred from Al-Ahli Sanatorium in Gaza City to Nasser Sanatorium. Five have cancer and one suffers from metabolic syndrome. That withdrawal was arranged by Global Condition Group, which could not immediately be reached for comment.

At a press conference at the Nasser Sanatorium on Thursday, Dr. Mohammed Zakout, the head of Gaza’s hospitals, said the evacuation was being carried out in coordination with WHO and three US charities.

Zakout said more than 25,000 patients in Gaza require treatment outside the country, including about 980 children suffering from cancer, a quarter of whom require “immediate and urgent evacuation”.

He said the circumstances involved in Thursday’s evacuation were “a drop in the ocean” and that Kerem Shalom and the difficult route through Egypt could not contribute to an additional crossing of Rafah.

Zakout said 21 children were initially scheduled to be released on Thursday, but one arrived at the hospital before the release time. It was not immediately cloudless which prevented the second child from joining the evacuation.

Physicians for Human Rights Israel and the Israeli human rights group Geisha petitioned Israel’s Supreme Court to create a “permanent mechanism” to allow the community seeking scientific treatment to evacuate Gaza.

Adi Lustigman, a lawyer with Doctors for Human Rights Israel, said that before May 7, when the Israeli army announced its Garden operation in Rafah and took control of the crossing, about 50 Palestinian patients went in. Out of Egypt for scientific treatment.

“The fact that fewer than 70 people left the border on Thursday, after two months of crossings being closed, is extremely saddening,” said Tania Harries, executive director of Geisha. “Our understanding of it is that it’s absolutely not sustainable in terms of response.”

He called on the Israeli military to reopen the Rafah crossing and allow patients to travel to the Erez crossing on the northern side of the range, previously the main crossing for Palestinians entering Israel.

Israel’s Model Court will hear the petition on Monday.

In a post on the social media platform Is. Of the 13,872 people who have applied for medical evacuation since October 7, only 35% have been evacuated.

“Medical evacuation corridors must be urgently established to ensure the continuous, orderly, safe and timely evacuation of critically ill patients from Gaza by all possible routes,” he said.

Conflict started with Hamas Terrible attack on Israel on October 7Through which the terrorists killed about 1,200 of the community and took another 250 hostage.
