dancer, actor and dancing with the Stars Co-host Julianne Hough enjoys her fitness-heavy lifestyle. She prioritizes nutrient-rich foods in her diet and follows proper exercise regimens to ensure that her body feels its best.

So through their partnership with Blender Bites, they helped create a new flavor that prioritizes healthy ingredients: Superberry Recreation 1-Step Smoothie, which has 6 grams of protein per serving and no added sugar. Packed with veggies and fruits, turmeric and an array of hydrating ingredients like H2O and coconut milk, all you have to do is add the liquid to any of these inflammation-fighting smoothie pucks, shake it up and enjoy.

Through this setting, we got the chance to talk with Huff about how she incorporates anti-inflammatory and protein-packed components into her diet. Plus, additional information about the brand new product, her go-to methods for exercise therapy, and her midnight routine below.

eating well: Are there any anti-inflammatory ingredients you like to add to your diet or meals that help you feel better?

Huff: I’m definitely a person who likes fats right, so from time to time I’ll eat an avocado and a minute of olive oil and salt. This is the perfect breakfast for anti-inflammatory cravings. From time to time I’ll eat fruit mid-morning as a snack. If I’m up early, I’ll eat a small salad with protein in the afternoon and just protein and vegetables later at night. They’re my favorite, I’m not a heavy grazer anymore. I will just eat my food.

eating well: Is protein something you focus on? Do you have a favorite high-protein lunch or dinner?

Huff: Protein is really important to me. I learn, I dance, I live, so that’s definitely a necessity for my healing. However, for anyone else, this is exactly what we want in our daily vitamins. Alternative things I like to eat and that are rich in protein are salmon or chicken, which are good sources. And I’ll pair it with some zap candy potatoes, asparagus or cauliflower from time to time. I really enjoy healthy food, both community sourced and farm-to-table. I seem to be feeding my body so effectively and feel so energetic.

eating well: Can you discuss Blender Bites and the brand new Superberry Recreation 1-Step Smoothie?

Huff: Whatever I do, it has to be in line with my lifestyle. Blender Bites matches perfectly with everything I do on a day-to-day basis, whether it’s drinking my morning shake or a post-workout smoothie. They’re simple to get going, really it’s just one easy step. And the fact that it’s a logo founded by a woman is an extra point for why I wanted a life partner.

After running with them for a date and trying all the flavors, I tried adding some protein to a shake. It’s really useless to try it because the consistency can be coarsely grainy and weird. We’ve perfected the formula though, and it’s brilliant. Yet it’s gluten-, dairy-, soy- and nut-free, and it’s made with Orgain’s plant-based proteins. It is very tasty and is known as superberry recreation as it completes muscle healing. This is our brand new formula and our brand new blend and it’s very exciting. I will not be able to stand for its goals for the society. It rolled out BJ’s Wholesale Subscriptions nationally this summer and will also be available in other retail distribution stores later this summer.

eating well: What is one thing about post-workout recovery that you think is over, and what do you do for me?

Huff: I think the treatment usually ends. I really like saunas and ice baths. I believe it to be superfluous and it has helped me a lot in gaining the ability to dance as long as I can. I’m almost 36 and if I had been taking cold dips and ice baths and saunas before my generation, I think my body would have been even better. Since I started, I believe I am more fit and colorful now than I ever was in my mid-twenties. I love the lacy boot, it will squeeze the feet and from time to time I will just wear those boots in the evening. And while applying lotion, I’ll do my own minute lymphatic therapeutic massage. I know what to press behind the knee and inside the thigh. I will do this and it will help with the burning sensation.

eating well: Do you have a midnight diet or any rituals that help you deal with malaise and get into a state of relaxation?

Huff: I’m an early dinner person because I like intermittent fasting, and so I’ll finish dinner around seven o’clock. From time to time I watch TV shows to relax and be lazy, but many times I shoot my dog while walking, especially now that the sun stays up longer. I’ll shoot it at sunset and be alive for a minute. Later I’ll come back and aim to keep my phone inactive for a period of time before getting into a sitting position in bed. It has dried up, no matter what my goal. Sometimes I’ll journal and sell for posterity, or I’ll learn, meditating for a minute before going to bed. I don’t have a TV in my bedroom, and I leave my telephone in my restroom as soon as I go to bed.
