Choosing was once a problem.

After a handful of Lincoln family companies across the country contacted him in early June, the city’s ABC affiliate KLKN-TV opted not to renew his oath of office when it expired at the end of May.

In any case, he chose to remain in TV.

“It’s tempting to take vacations and work 9 to 5, but I love what I do,” she advised magazine Big Name.

On Tuesday, Conway formally authorized a position at KOLN/KGIN-TV. The CBS-affiliated station announced that she would be anchoring mornings and afternoons on 10/11.

“It was important to me to stay in Lincoln and stay in the same profession,” he said.

Adjustments will start from Monday.

“I am grateful and excited for the opportunity to continue serving my community,” Conway said. “It’s a privilege to do the work I love in my home state, and I want to thank the audience for their trust. “My passion for journalism and Nebraska shines through.”

Conway is an Indianola native who earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

She and her husband, Max, have built for some time in Lincoln. They have two children and just moved to a bigger area.

“We are very involved in the community,” he said. “So, we really didn’t want to uproot our young family again and go to a job.

“Living in Lincoln was a big priority for us at one time.”

Conway had been with KLKN since 2014, serving in multiple roles in the newsroom. She left the station in May after serving as evening anchor for eight years.

“Megan is an accomplished journalist and it’s clear she’s motivated to continue serving audiences in Lincoln and Nebraska,” 10/11 News and Innovation Director Mikel Lauber said in a written statement. “Most importantly, Megan has built a reputation of trust in our community, which aligns perfectly with the culture of 10/11.”

In a June interview, she told the magazine Big Star that she was “blindsided” when she learned that her vows with the ABC affiliate would no longer be renewed.

To make room for Conway, morning anchor Danielle Schenk will transition to nighttime virtual executive producer and streaming anchor. Schenk will provide updates from the streaming studio for the nightly newscast and will also work at the anchor table.
