Samsung unveils flexible Icon sensor for stunning smartphone photos – Samsung World Newsroom

Samsung Electronics, a global leader in complex semiconductor production, has recently introduced 3 new cell symbol sensors designed for each primary and sub camera in smartphones: ISOCELL HP9, ISOCELL GNJ and ISOCELL JN5.

As consumer expectations for smartphone digital camera components and functions continue to rise, Samsung’s new Symbol sensors deliver admirable effects from every perspective, creating a new normal for cell images.

ISOCELL HP9: The trade’s first 200MP telephoto sensor for smartphones

The ISOCELL HP9 has 200 million 0.56-micrometer (μm) pixels in a 1/1.4-inch vision layout.

With its proprietary high-refractive microlens that incorporates a fresh subject material, the HP9 significantly supplements its light-gathering capability by appropriately directing excess light to produce crisp RGB colors. This results in additional brilliant color reproduction and improved concentration, with 12% greater light sensitivity (corresponding to a signal-to-noise ratio of 10) and 10% further autofocus discrimination efficiency compared to the previous product.

Notably, the HP9 performs excellently in low light conditions, solving a common problem with standard telephoto cameras. Its Tetra²Pixel generation merges 16 pixels (4×4) into a massive, 12MP 2.24μm-sized sensor, allowing for sharp portrait photos – even in low-light settings – and dramatic Out-of-focus Bokeh develops.1 Result.

As the size of primary cameras continues to increase in top-end smartphones, space for telephoto cameras may also expand. ISOCELL GNJ: Integrating Chopping-Edge Pixel Generation Inventions

The ISOCELL GNJ features a Twin Pixel sensor with 50 million 1.0μm pixels in a 1/1.57-inch vision layout.

Each pixel has two photodiodes, enabling fast and accurate autofocus, which best correlates to human visual concentration. The image sensor captures the entire color data simultaneously for fast focusing with a continuous image component.

GNJ combines twin pixel generation with in-sensor zoom, delivering clear images in the video method and high-resolution photos independent of artifacts or moiré.2 Pattern in Photograph Method.

The ISOCELL JN5 features 50 million 0.64μm pixels in a 1/2.76-inch vision layout.

Twin Vertical Switch Gate (Twin VTG) generation will increase the rate switches inside the pixels, significantly reducing noise in low light conditions resulting in a clear symbol component.

Taking advantage of Super Quad Section Detection (Super QPD), the ZN5 adjusts focus by evaluating segment variations vertically and horizontally, capturing even the smallest key points of suddenly moving objects with minimal shake.

Additionally, the ZN5 accommodates Twin Slope Acquire (DSG) generation to strengthen its HDR. This generation multiplies the analog light data coming into the pixel into two alerts, converts them to virtual ones, and then combines them into one data, increasing the field of colors produced by the sensor.

Implementing hardware remosaic algorithms improves camera photography speed, enabling real-time zoom without any delay in both the preview and capture systems.

The ZN5’s slim vision layout makes it extremely flexible, allowing it to integrate with primary and sub cameras – including wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle, front and telephoto – promising a consistent digital camera experience from a variety of angles. Does.
