After all you’ve been through, how are you?
What I’m going through right now, what I’ve been going through lately, is tough. However, all this pales in comparison to the way I felt in 2016 when she was missing. Looking for the love of my life, my bride, the mother of my children, thinking she’s being tortured or I’m going to find her dead in some ditch – I’m cruel, the hardships It was very sad to think about what I went through, that rage, that future lifestyle. What I’m going through right now, I’m not saying I’m satisfied about it, but it’s definitely less than what it used to be.

For the long term, you have stayed away from the media. What inspired you to share your side of the story?
The first six years, (I) was just trying to help Sherri heal. I was never looking for media attention. We were just trying to support the population. Then his arrest, it was obviously a difficult time for me and my family. I met (filmmaker) Allison Berkley, and when we talked about everything, I felt really comfortable with her. Actually I wanted to bring out the truth. So much community helped in 20 days and in such a short amount of time, so many wonderful people, people and friends. I wanted to thank all of the community, but also bring out the truth and let everyone know that this wasn’t just a big lie and that she’s coming home. It’s been 5,6 years since she slowly lied and we all got convinced that her deception was real.

How do you feel watching this documentary now?
It is very useless to do this because at that time I am not eating, I am not sleeping. All I can think about is trying to support and protect my spouse as much as possible. To go back and look at the photos to see the entire network that was affected, and find out that she was lying – no longer just lying; She is watching films of everyone who is looking for her. All the signs, and finding out that her kids are at home, and is that okay? It’s painful, and it definitely falls apart, it’s just not a lie. it was designed. It was a thing that he obviously had to sit there and make that choice, like, “Okay, I’m going to do this.” It is meaningless to think about it that way because I have come here to find (him) and I don’t even know if he is alive or not. So it’s very painful, and it really shows the extent of the manipulation and deception that he did to us.

She was released from jail in October 2023 after serving about 10 months and 21 days, and now lives in the central region. Do you think his sentence is too long, and how do you feel about the fact that he has been spared?
What he has achieved, in my view, I don’t think there was ever a sentence that was too long. I thought she was going to get out before 18 months because of good behavior. If that’s all she has to do, she will work. She is an actress. I always felt like she was moving out of the past and I’m glad she avoided some court problems without getting too close to us and the kids again and again.

Have you ever been in touch with Sherry?
I have not talked to him, this is the solution. I really don’t need to hear what he has to mention in this future. In an effort to address your question, I made the wise decision to end the verbal exchange, we do not interact.

Have you ever learned to agree again?
I like to think that when you communicate with the community they give unbiased and unbiased statements, that’s just the way I am by nature. Obviously there’s a second layer to it now where I would focus on someone, but I would probably want to interrogate the closest a little bit. As far as love-life goes, I haven’t put myself in the market for the whole courtship factor yet. My primary, 100-percent focus was the kids and making sure we all were given that OK.

How will you explain the rumor and arrest of your 9 and 11 year old child being kidnapped?
This is very PG. It is very restrictive. I’m not going to go into a dozen features right now. She’s no longer in their life enough to meet you after two years, so it’s not something they really ask about much anymore.

If anyone in the class says something, we have that dialogue that they will just politely say, “I don’t feel comfortable talking about my family.” They just move on. So, they know that there’s a possibility that someone might say something, whether it’s happiness, like, “I saw you on TV,” or it could be the other way around, like, “Oh, I heard your About mother.” However they are very resilient children.

In the documentary, you step into the realm of Sherri’s ex-boyfriend James Reyes, where she claimed she was abused. What was it like once upon a time?
When I stayed in that area it was more surprising for me because I had already seen that area from outside in 2016 when our people were troubled to see that area. We knew this was where James lived. So the fact that we were there, and I saw those pictures, that was actually more amazing, look at the outside of it.

Have you ever met James?

So when you were sent there the house was empty,
I need to be clear on one thing. The crowd asked me, “Do you think she was molested?” And I’m like, “She was definitely tampered with.” I’m cruel, that’s what Sherry does. He left her for a purpose and achieved it once he was with her. I will not be able to say that I think of that man as impure. At the end of the spree, he did some pretty serious things to a woman, whether she asked him or not. One thing I can’t help but notice is why Sherry would go to such lengths. Have you ever found out why?
Negative, I certainly did not determine this. I have some theories, though nothing concrete, and I’ve spent a dozen of future hours on this. A dozen of my friends have given me their opinions and some of the issues come close to what probably happened. At the end of it though, I’ve accepted that I may never know the answer. I think although she came forward at a pace and mentioned her model of events, to be fair, I wouldn’t even consider them. I’ve just reached a point where I’ve discovered that I can never know the truth, and I’m okay with that.
