Abby Stockard is Alabama’s untouched pass.
Stockard, 21, was toppled Saturday evening at Samford College’s Wright Middle in Birmingham. He competed as a pass-over hoover, beating out 39 other contestants for the 2024 pageant competition. Stockard would go on to represent Alabama on the United States Past.
Stockard takes over the role of Pass Over Alabama from Brianna Burrell, Pass Over Alabama 2023. Burrell crowned his successor at right center on Saturday and Stockard was presented with a bouquet of roses.
“I have no words,” Stockard told AL.com about his win. “I’m so excited. I’m so honored, and I can’t believe I’ll have the opportunity to represent Alabama this year.
Stockard, from Birmingham, is an alumnus of Auburn College, where she studied nursing. Based on her experience at Alabama Bio, she plans to gain valuable experience and study at the College of Anesthesia Attendant for her upcoming graduation. Her goal is to earn an advanced level, become a physician of baby sitter anesthesia follow, and specialize in pediatrics.
Alabama’s year-long reign of virginity begins immediately. She will build a presence in the country, do fundraising work, speak to crowd groups, inspire students and more. Stockard’s crowdfunded initiative is Be the Exchange: Discover a Fix – Cystic Fibrosis Awareness.
Stockard noted, “I’m so excited that I have this platform of influence to really make a difference in the lives and hearts of the people of Alabama.” “This is my third year competing for the title of Miss Alabama, and for a long time now, I have put in a lot of work and effort to get here. I have big plans for this year, and I’m so excited that I’ll get the chance to make them happen.
“My big goal is obviously to increase the visibility of the (Miss Alabama) organization,” Stockard said. “I want to use social media. I want to carry forward the ultimate mission of this organization to empower young women. I want to promote recruitment. I want to increase my service initiative of cystic fibrosis awareness. I want to make service the center of my reign and everything I do. I truly believe that I have a heart of compassion and empathy, and I want to use it to touch the lives and hearts of the people of Alabama.
Stockard was one of 13 semi-finalists selected for the pageant final on Saturday, competing in departments including skills, onstage interview, nighttime gown and health and fitness. The scores obtained in the preliminaries were factored to create an overall ranking that was considered by the judges on Saturday, and were weighted as 30 percent of each competitor’s ranking in the finals. This was added to Saturday’s ratings by skills, night attire and fitness (each accounting for 20 per cent) and on-stage questioning (10 per cent).
Pass Over Alabama, like the Pass Over the United States group, is no longer a suit festival. It was dropped in Pass Over United States in 2018, and adopted in Pass Over Alabama in 2019. On the other hand, a fitness department was added this month, and contestants modeled activewear designed for the Pass Over. United States Group.
Additionally, this month’s Crowd Selection Tournament allowed people to vote online for their favorite contestants for a trip to the Pass Over Alabama finals. Each vote is worth $1. The contestant with the most votes earned a spot among the 13 semi-finalists on Saturday. Voting continued through Friday night, according to the group Pass Over Alabama.
