Travis Barker was a proud husband at his inaugural “Run Travis Run” tournament in Los Angeles over the weekend.
The rocker hosted and ran a 5K tournament on Saturday at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif., where he was joined by his wife Kourtney Kardashian. The joy of running and fitness began just eight months later when Kardashian gave birth to the couple’s first child, a baby boy named Rocky.
“My wife is a beast!” Barker thoroughly recommends Web Page Six. “He has never done this (before). She thinks I’m crazy because some mornings I’ll wake up and she’ll be like, ‘Where are you going?’ I’m like, ‘I heard there’s a 5K, babe, I’ll run it.'”
The two made their move to the development together and continued to gush in PDA in front of people attending and watching the 5K.
Barker, 48, completed the entire 3.1-mile distance in less than 20 minutes and watched in amazement as Kardashian, 45, walked the final chain with some friends.
“It was really cool to have her be a part of it,” he said. “It was awesome. It was everything I had imagined.”
The “Run Travis Run” – which benefits the Boys & Women’s Club – began just hours before Barker crashed the stage with Blink-182 for their “One More Time” tour clash at SoFi Stadium. The drummer has made performing a pre-ritual over time – and told us he’s just happy to have found a way to get in on the fun with fans.
“I feel great, I’m on a natural high after your run. I do it every day…though not at this pace,” he said of his lifestyle. “But once you’re around all these people, you can’t help but be hyped up and inspired.”
Everyone who participated in the 5K won a limited-edition blouse, medal, and entry into the Revival Zone, which included wellness activations and exclusive access to brands like Aloe, Barker Wellness, LeMay, Fresh Stability, Liquid Speed IV and more. VIP visitors additionally won a swag bag and the luxury of an exclusive meet and greet with Barker.
“For me, it was like, ‘I run every day, so I should invite people to run with me.’ But I found it wasn’t that easy,” Barker told Page Six about how the development came about.
“My manager was like, ‘Oh, you can’t really do that, you have to have a permit (at work).’ So I did all the things and partnered with the mascot (sports) to put this event together and it was amazing,” he said. “It’s the best feeling to see all kinds of people out there running or walking. Like bringing and just coming together.
Barker made changes to his personal situation and health lifestyle after a plane crash in 2008 left him and Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein (now deceased) in critical condition. Four optional passengers aboard a private plane from South Carolina to LA tragically died in the incident.
“More than 70 percent of my body was burnt and doctors told me I would never be able to walk or play drums the way I used to. “I was never athletic and I never played sports, but I immediately felt like proving everyone wrong, including myself,” Barker explained in a comment on the “Run Travis Run” site. He recovered after the accident.
“It started with short walks and then it turned into short walks every day. Whenever I ran I felt a sense of peace and a rush of dopamine,” he said. “I’ve kept it for years, and I always start my day with it. When I’m on tour I run three miles every day before my shows.
Barker has since credited Kardashian, whom he married in 2022, for encouraging him to fly once again following the tragedy.
In addition to Rocky, Barker is also father to son Landon, 20, and daughter Alabama, 18, whom he shares with ex-wife Shanna Moakler.
He has also been like a father to Atiana de L. Hoya, Moakler’s 25-year-old daughter, married to Oscar de L. Had earlier love affair with. Hoya, and is stepfather to Kardashian’s three alternative children – Mason, Penelope and Reign – with ex Scott Disick.
Atiana competed in the tournament over the weekend, and was seen cheering on Barker and Kardashian and taking videos as they started the race. Meanwhile, Landon has been busy rehearsing as he looks forward to joining his father as an opener at select performances for Blink-182’s ongoing tour.
“I love it. Nothing makes me happier than that,” Barker told Page Six, adding that she’s proud her son is following in her footsteps. “I saw him yesterday and he Rehearsing, doing everything so he can put on a great show.”
Web Page Six spotted Landon joining stars like Kardashian, System Gun Kelly and Megan Fox watching Blink-182 perform from the VIP section of SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on Saturday evening.
Barker graduated with fellow original bandmates Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge after early performances in Scouring Milk and Pierce the Veil. The live performance marked their biggest headlining stadium performance in weeks.
The crowd went wild as the rock band performed another crash program throughout the evening – including “All the Small Things,” “The Rock Show,” “Say It Ain’t So,” “Aliens Exist” and “The Rock.” “What’s My Age Again?” – with pyrotechnics and plenty of lively banter between Hoppus and DeLonge.
“Such a special moment that I got to witness. This is music,” Landon wrote via his Instagram Stories on a video of Barker’s performance. “Congratulations Dad, this is the best thing ever.”
Then, Blink-182 heads to Fresno, California for their “One More Time” tour and the second “Run Travis Run” tournament on July 21 at City Grassland in Queens, NY.
