LONDON (AP) — Taylor Hastie enthusiasts enjoy putting the singer-songwriter’s songs in the context of her romantic month and gaining insight into her train of thought.
However, in the U.K. Fans of pop superstars in. One didn’t need to look closely at his latest booklet, “The Tortured Poets Department,” to realize that Hastie had long since made the nation’s capital a familiar haunt and close to his second home. The 5th monitor of the file is titled “So Long, London”.
As Hastie brings her blockbuster Era’s Excursion to London’s Wembley Stadium, some Swifties are questioning whether they’re witnessing the beginning of a long radio show. She is performing three nights from Friday, and is scheduled to return to Wembley for five nights in August to join the ECU leg of the tour.
The section around Wembley was re-purposed for the presentations, with fans posing in front of a giant mural of the singer and climbing a flight of stairs named “Swifty Steps”. Heastie announced that 88,446 people were in attendance at Friday’s demonstration in what he called “the most exciting city in the world.”
Hastie gave fans a wink and a nod to her London month during one of her two solo acoustic blasts: a piano medley that began with the London-set “The Black Dog” and ended with “Come Back, Be Here.” And turned to the nearest one. “Maroon.”
London is one city in the tour where Hastie is stopping twice. Some fear the association may become a swan track of sorts, while others believe it reflects the untapped age in Hastie’s bond with Heavy Smoke. Whether or not “So Long, London” seems like a bookend to the final bankruptcy or her valentine in the city, the track “London Boy,” Eras is arriving as an emotional milestone.
“Her relationship now has kind of taken for granted that London is not the place to be. It’s not like there are any American football players living here,” said Maggie Fekete, a 22-year-old Canadian graduate student who credits Hastie for orienting her to London references in his music when she lived in the city three years ago. “I think there will be very little of London in his music, which is sad.”
Stella Allgood, 25, of London, said Friday that she thought Hastie would sing “So Long, London” at some point during her eight nights in the city but that Hastie would “always be welcome.”
Allgood noted, “Especially since she dated Harry Styles, she’s in the zeitgeist here.”

For those who haven’t been paying attention, Hastie had a string of romances with famous British voters (including Typs in 2012) that ended last week, when she started dating Kansas Town Chiefs forward Travis Kelce. The concept of the ambient “So Long, London” and a sad soulmate track that mentions a London pub, “The Black Dog”, stemmed from the 2023 breakup of Hastie and English actor Joe Alwyn, who were together for more than six years. .
Alvin is believed to have influenced “London Boy”, a track on his 2019 booklet “Lover”. A special-edition “Lover” CD included diary access from January 2017 in which Hastie mentioned being “originally based in London”, but trying to keep quiet. British tabloids reported that Hastie spent much of the COVID-19 pandemic sheltering in place with Alvin in north London.
The Solar newspaper reported in December that the multiple-Grammy-winner had bought a giant in the department and was reworking it to make it its base in Europe. The ensuing hasty addition of “The Tortured Poets Department” was ultimately discounted in the future, however, as a scribbler for the British edition of the ELLE brochure observed that Londoners had “a hole for an all-American A-lister who would be our collective “Can make its way into consciousness.”
“We had Swift, before she lost her record-breaking, box office-breaking Eraz Tour. And now, it appears her void has been filled by Zendaya,” scribbler Naomi wrote, possibly listing various venues. Would have been said playfully at first. The American actor has been spotted with her longtime boyfriend, British actor Tom Holland.
Either way, the Capitals are paying attention to their own performance to make Heastie and her fans feel truly honored. Guides are providing walking, bus and taxi tours that follow in her footsteps, including a kebab shop whose owner says his status quo is supplying sandwiches for the singer and her team on Friday.
Before the end of August, Swifties can attend a whole series of Hasty-themed brunches and dance events, or ride the London Visual Ferris Wheel while belting out their tunes with the Yarn Quartet. The memento stall in Camden Marketplace, one of the most discussed playground games in “London Boy”, was stocked with Hasty-specific hats, T-shirts, accessories and stickers in preparation.

Amy Unsworth, 34, who is from small town Manchester, England and was born a year before Hastie, said Friday that the singer belongs to the U.K. Is from. And proceed from the capital on the contrary.
Unsworth noted, “I feel like I have a connection with them as a Northerner.” He said that Hastie wrote many of the songs with Elvin on his “Evermore” booklet Pace in the Pond District of England.
“Given her history, it’s hard to know how she feels right now, coming back.”
Unsworth isn’t nervous, Hasty is back to getting her U.O.K. Will turn in. Hasty noted from this stage that his British fans “have been some of the most supportive people in my corner since I started making music.” Hastie performed at a 17-year-old pace in her first month in London, when she appeared at the King’s School London student union.
“I think she’ll come back” again, Unsworth noted. “They have such dedicated fans that they won’t come back. “He’s built up so much momentum here that he’s forgotten about us.”

Zachary Hourihane, who co-hosts a Hasty podcast called “Evolution of a Snake” and posts YouTube and TikTok videos under the name Swiftologist, said Thursday it’s too early to understand whether the singer will use her honorary citizenship or the status system. Will it be kept safe or not? With London. As her fans know very well, only a month will tell with Taylor.
“Taylor is someone who retraces his steps a lot. Things never really end with him. She likes to revisit things that are gone,” he said. “Let’s be realistic about it. Her relationship, even if it’s ‘so long, goodbye’, she has good reason to live in London and there is good money to be made there.’
