The last generation of Google made a fat, sudden announcement. The Pixel 9 line is launching in August, nearly two months ahead of the regular schedule. Why?

Traditionally, Google has held its annual “Made by Google” tournament in October to debut the original Pixel flagship. It started on October 4, 2016 and has been continuing for more or less the same time period since then. Possibly the earliest event occurred in 2020, when Google introduced the Pixel 5 and other devices on September 30.
However August 13th? he is wildly Initially, to some extent no one would have really anticipated it. Development may be moved to Google Headquarters in Mountain View, California, followed by disused Yorktown in a few years. Clearly, there are fat adjustments on the horizon.
Why the early hour?
We may not need to ask for appearances, but there are a few possibilities that immediately come to mind.
For one, there’s the obvious fact that Google’s Tensor chip, the G4, is more of a stopgap than all the rest. A fully optimized Tensor chip made by TSMC will be arriving in 2025, and rumor has it that the G4 is actually a slight bump on the controls of the Wave Tensor G3. This is supposed to be great, as the Tensor G3 remains much better than the first two generations, but we don’t really know how much better it will be. Rumors claim it will be better with heat and power, and may also adopt an updated cell modem that comes with satellite backup. So, given the minor upgrades, it would only be that Google’s later Tensor chip might be capable of primetime a little earlier than the latter’s present.
I will say that Chip left very few possible explanations for the opening hour, though. A more potent risk, I think, is the sheer breadth of this preseason’s lineup.
If all the rumors pan out – and it certainly seems like it does – there could be four new Pixel 9 models this time around. Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Professional XL and Pixel 9 Professional line. The naming scheme comes off like a rush, but when it’s priced like it should be, it’s usually a killer lineup on Google’s stage. However it has to happen He With so much hardware hitting the market at once, it’s especially frustrating for an organization that only holds a small (albeit growing) share of the smartphone market. I might shrug off the notion that Google might eventually announce the completeness without much delay, although in the process it might throw out the unedited shed after a date or more. I certainly hope that, at the very least, there may be some possibility of the same event bringing brand new Pixel monitor hardware and updated Pixel Buds.
Despite everything, there’s another reason why Google is pushing this launch so quickly, and I think it might be one of the best of all.
Ai.
What’s more, all later. Google is putting more emphasis on AI as the corporate is feeling festive inspiration, and the Pixel is a major part of that effort. Using the August expiration date in a different way gives Google a chance to praise its own new AI concepts on the Pixel before Apple’s subsequent iPhones, which, for now, look to be loaded with “Apple Intelligence.” . As our Abner Lee entered on Friday, Google has already teased that tough new AI options are coming to the show, reminiscent of Gemini Live.
Which of those three reasons could be Google’s inspiration? I think it’s definitely a mixture, and there are a few billion different elements, although I’m very curious to see how it all works out. in a ballot paper, 9to5Google Readers believe that bringing out the Pixel earlier is a good idea, and that’s something I’ve always felt the company has to believe in.
Buckle up, people; It’s certainly going to be a busy few weeks within the Pixel rumor generator.
